CIVIL DEFENSE PARALEGAL
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented paralegal to join our firm. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and capable of managing a diverse workload in a high-volume environment. This position requires strong litigation support skills and a solid understanding of Texas Civil Procedure. The ideal candidate will enjoy working closely with attorneys in an office environment to ensure that case files are well organized and cases are trial-ready. This is not a remote position.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys in all phases of civil litigation, including discovery, trial preparation, and case management
Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery responses
Organize and manage case files
Conduct legal research and summarize findings
Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, mediations, hearings and other legal proceedings
Communicate effectively with clients, experts, court personnel, and opposing counsel
Maintain deadlines and calendaring of case milestones
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in civil defense
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software (e.g., Clio, Filevine, Meruscase or similar)
Familiarity with billing time
Strong understanding of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and local court rules
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Paralegal certificate or relevant legal studies degree (preferred, but not required)
